Our Mission

Tether Dance Project is a Bay Area-based community organization using dance as a vehicle to explore identity, connection, and transformation. Co-founded by Teo Lin-Bianco, Tatianna Steiner, and Ella Wright, the group centers emerging voices and lived experience. Through live shows, workshops, and community partnerships, it creates space for next-generation artists to grow, take risks, and make meaning together.

Tether was born from UC Berkeley’s Tether Dance Company founded in late 2023. Tether Dance Company was Tatianna, Teo and Ella’s senior project as Dance Major’s at UC Berkeley and was supported by the Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies Department.

"Dance is for everybody. I believe that the dance came from the people and that it should always be delivered back to the people."

-Alvin Ailey
